Investigation of construction defect claims is one of our core practice areas. During the past fifteen years, ACI has been involved in hundreds of construction defect cases for both residential and commercial properties.

Our clients include building owners, general contractors, subcontractors, financial institutions, associations, property management firms, and insurance companies. We have worked with dozens of construction attorneys in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota.

Frequent cases include water intrusion, structural defects, non-disclosure, grading / drainage, inadequate ventilation, foundation distress or settlement, roofing, HVAC, wet basements, and storm damage.  Although most claims settle in mediation, a small percentage of cases do proceed to trial. We have provided expert testimony in dozens of bench and jury trials.

Our services commonly include site inspections, review of applicable building codes and industry standards governing construction, review of construction documents, and review of other documents produced during discovery. In cooperation with an attorney, we provide expert opinions in reports, disclosures, and affidavits.  We also provide trial testimony as necessary.
